Since 2020, we have faced many changes in our lives and have had to adapt to new ways of working, learning and interacting with one another. These include scanning QR codes, cashless payments, attending meetings and events online, wearing masks and rigorous hand washing routines to keep safe. As we reflect on how we have come so far, while adapting to changes and hoping for a better future, do you have a story that you wish to tell us?

Titled “My Singapore New Norm”, the 4th edition of the Micro Film Competition hopes to provide a platform for the public to share how their lives have been shaped into the new normal.

The Micro Film Competition focuses on the Singapore Spirit, and encourages people to discover local stories and showcase different facets of Singapore through videos. Entering its 4th edition, the focus of this year’s competition is on the new normal, and participants are invited to share their own interpretation and thoughts of it. The competition also hopes to highlight the perseverance, optimism and adaptability that Singapore and her people have shown during this period.

"My Singapore New Norm" Micro Film Competition accepts all film genres including story film, documentary film, animation etc.

Over S$30,000 in cash to be won! Click here to view respective awards and prizes.

By registering, you will receive regular updates on the competition and be invited to attend free sharing sessions and workshops. A ‘submission’ is compulsory for participation in the competition.

No. All submission must be done online via the submission form.

The duration of a microfilm should be of minimum 30 seconds and shall not exceed 10 minutes. The file size should not exceed 300 MB.

No. The entry should be original and not comprise any published footage.

You may change or update your information by emailing us at microfilmsg@gmail.com. You may also change your competition category so long as your entry has not been reviewed by judges.

Our jury members comprise a wide spectrum of professionals in the film industry. Refer to the list of judges for more information.

Withdrawal from the competition is not allowed once you submit your entry.

Submission of entry automatically transfers all rights to ‘My Singapore New Norm’ Micro Film Competition organising committee, including Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA), Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) and Lianhe Zaobao. By submitting an entry to ‘My Singapore New Norm’ Micro Film Competition, each entry expressly grants permission to use their name, country, film name in publicity materials on and outside of the competition website. Refer to the competition Terms and Conditions for more information.
